Going with Rotary
Rotary’s Summer Exchange is a short-term exchange that normally takes place during the summer, between June and August. It is a family-to-family exchange. Under Rotary International’s rules the exchange is three plus three weeks – that is, three weeks in Sweden and three weeks in another country.
Experience shows that the exchanges fall after Midsummer, which means taking part in a summer exchange is normally not compatible with a summer job.

Travel story
In early summer an Indian guy came to Sweden and spent a month with me. When I then travelled to India, I was met by the family in Pune. The first week was strange and I was homesick, but once I got into the routines everything started to feel better. School was probably where I had the most fun. Even though I was only in India for a month, I learned an incredible amount – the cultural insight affected me the most and made me understand how much lies hidden behind the image you have of another culture.
